Hi Fave,
During the past week, I came across two mutual connections on Instagram who started their career at Paystack and have since moved on to work for different organizations out of Nigeria. Then I remembered that in 2021, January to be precise, I received an email from the then HR (trust me, I still confirmed from LinkedIn lately) inviting me for an interview for the position of Business Development Associate.
That was 3years ago. According to HR, I was recommended by their partner recruitment agency via my LinkedIn profile. Do you know what happened after I got the mail? Nothing. I didn’t reply to the email, nor did I inform my closest friends and siblings. Till today, I honestly don’t know the reason, and recalling this information with my loved ones this weekend, we all didn’t know why I didn’t share. Maybe, because I had just resumed back at work in Abuja after the Christmas holiday and the interview date clashed with just after our annual sales conference and I didn’t want to be spending money on flight tickets.
But you know, over the past few weeks in my church, my pastor has been preaching on restoration and I guess I remembered that incident and was reassured that my life can never end on regrets. Whenever it seems like something isn’t going right or was lost, there’s always a final card that says checkmate- aka, I always win!
This incident also reminded me of the importance of not doing life alone. I still don’t know the reason why I didn’t tell anyone about the email, because I truly believed if I did, they would have forced me to attend and who knows where that journey would have led me.
Are there any similar experiences you have of missed opportunities, please drop a comment below or reply to me privately. I always love your replies and try my best to reply to everyone.
It’s restoration season my faves. May every opportunity you’ve lost be restored.
Till next time.
Your Fave,
Tostos.
